Get Started

There are a few ways to get stated on laying out a fotobook. First off, get your photos ready.

How many photos?
As many as you need to tell your story. We recommend about 30-50 photos for a 20page book.. More photos the better.

What software?
There are several softwares that are available that can be used to layout your fotobook with varying complexities and capabilities. We recommend using Apple's iPhoto that cames free with every new Mac as part of the iLife package. It is by far the easiest and fastest way to do layout of your fotobook.

iPhoto's big brother, Aperture , is also capable in producing very professional layout with a bit more control and complexity. It is available from Apple resellers for only RM699.

For those more adventurous and graphically savvy you could also use Adobe's InDesign to do your book layout. It is significantly more complex than iPhoto and Aperture but offers considerabley more control over the creation of a book. Alternatively you could opt to do single page designs with either Photoshop or Illustrator and combine the resultant files together into one continuous PDF file.

There is also a free book layout software available called Scribus. It is similar in capability with Adobe's InDesign and available for Linux/Macs and Windows.
